Location: Warminster, Wiltshire, BA12 9DR | Salary: £32,916 – £51,048 + TLR2B | Full-time, Permanent | Start: 1 September 2026

Job Summary

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking to appoint a highly skilled Head of Physics to join its dynamic and successful Science Department, with effect from September 2026. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced teacher to lead Physics within our large and hardworking department, supporting the team in raising attainment and challenging students to achieve their best. Previous experience in a similar leadership role is advantageous.

The successful candidate will share our passion for helping all young people to believe, aspire and achieve, and be able to teach Physics across the full age and ability range, up to A Level. QTS status is essential for the role.

  • Proven leadership skills/experience in a Science Department
  • Passion for Physics and strong subject expertise
  • Ability to teach engaging lessons that motivate and improve student attainment
  • Can work with subject lead team to plan and deliver high-quality lessons
  • Ability to raise attainment and challenge students
  • Commitment to extra-curricular activities
  • Awareness of current initiatives in Physics and depth of knowledge across Key Stages
  • Effective team member capable of supporting colleagues' development
  • Positive, cheerful outlook with good sense of humour
  • Ability to forge good relationships with students and staff
  • Ability to work hard and remain calm under pressure
  • Desire to develop a career in teaching at leadership level
  • Desire to work within Multi-Academy Trust structure
