Business Manager

[Employer hidden — view at passion-project.co.uk] is seeking a Business Manager to work across two primary schools (Bolshaw and Mellor) in Stockport. This is a part-time, permanent role starting as soon as possible. The closing date is 15 May 2026.

Job Details

  • Job role: Administration, HR, data and finance

  • Working pattern: Part time: 35 hours a week, Monday - Friday (Term time only)

  • Pay scale: NJC SO2, pt 26 - 31

What skills and experience we're looking for

  • Management or business degree or equivalent related professional qualification eg CSBM/IAM/AAT
  • Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development and keeping up-to-date with developments and changes
  • Experience in and understanding of HR, payroll and financial processes and procedures
  • Evidence of successful project management and facilities management
  • Prior management responsibility, including the line management of staff and performance management
  • Experience/knowledge of effective marketing strategies
  • Experience of using Management Information Systems including financial and personnel information systems
  • Experience of working with the financial mechanisms in an academy. Following the academies financial calendar

The candidate will be required to undergo a full enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. Visas cannot be sponsored. We see this as an exciting opportunity for any Business Manager to become part of the team committed to developing the Trust, for the benefit of the children and community we serve. This role is pivotal to the organisation, working closely with the CFO across our two schools, you’ll have responsibility for aspects of financial management and administrative functions, human resources, premises, health & safety and IT systems. In this varied and interesting role; you will be working with a small, hardworking, professional team in both schools; you will be making operational and strategic decisions that will have impact across Mellor and Bolshaw Primary Schools and therefore we are looking for candidates that are comfortable working autonomously and demonstrate that they are a high performing team player. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills and have the ability to successfully manage key priorities.
