Job Summary
As English Lead you will provide strategic leadership to develop and promote high standards for reading and writing across the school to: secure consistent progression in writing skills (oracy, sentence construction, composition, handwriting, spelling); ensure pupils become confident and fluent readers, developing a lifelong love of reading; raise pupil attainment in writing and reading. You will lead the school’s phonics provision, early reading, and reading development across all key stages. You will also teach the curriculum across the 4-11 age range as required by the Headteacher.
You will: share our commitment to building great learning communities for our pupils; support the vision and values of our school; inspire young children with a passion for reading and writing; plan creatively for high quality teaching, learning and assessment; deliver highly effective and engaging lessons with the aspiration of raising academic progression of our pupils; have a real belief in inclusivity and the fact that all children can be supported to be successful; be professional, approachable and caring; work collaboratively across the school.
