Role Overview

We currently seek to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced applicant to join us as a Head of Section, in the leadership role of Head of Lower School (Years 7-9), from April 2025. The role has arisen due to the internal promotion of the current postholder to a senior leadership position and is a rare and exciting opportunity for an inspiring leader who is passionate about education and the development of young people. The Head of Lower School coordinates the work of three Deputy Heads of Lower School, each with specific responsibility for the three year groups in the section. The Head of Lower School holds a central role in the delivery and development of the school’s pastoral provision, overseen by our Deputy Head (Pastoral), and in ensuring a close alignment between the academic and pastoral sides of school life. The role offers superb capacity to work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and it is the ideal opportunity for someone looking to join a Senior Leadership Team in the future.

Requirements

  • Qualified teacher with experience in a leadership role
  • Ability to teach one of the subjects offered by the school
  • Strong understanding of pastoral care and child development
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information
