The Vacancy

The catering team is seeking to appoint a motivated individual to join the team as Kitchen Porter. The role involves operating the dishwasher and carrying out general cleaning duties in the pot wash area and kitchen with the aim of supporting the Head Chef and Head of Catering to achieve the highest standard of cleanliness and hygiene in the College kitchens. A working knowledge of Health & Safety & Hygiene is an advantage. The ideal candidate will be able to work with minimal supervision and manage time well in an often-busy environment. This is a permanent, full-time position working 40 hours per week, including some evening and alternate weekends on a rota basis. Further details can be found within the job description.

The catering team provides high quality dining and an efficient and professional standard of service to College members and external clients. Food service ranges from high volume cafeteria-style service to fine dining.  The catering team is close-knit and supportive, Kitchen Porters play a valuable role in making sure the service of food runs smoothly. Opportunities to train and develop are encouraged. Workload varies through the academic year and during holiday times, when conferences, weddings and special events are hosted.
