Building & Maintenance Operative

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking for an experienced Building & Maintenance Operative to join our skilled in‑house Maintenance Team. Working across our historic and modern buildings, large grounds, student accommodation, offices, and swimming pool, you’ll help keep the College running smoothly all year round.

Salary: £32,946 - £33,920 per annum | Full-time, 40 hours/week | Location: [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Cambridge

The Role

In this varied role, you’ll carry out a wide range of tasks including bricklaying, plastering, tiling, minor plumbing, drainage repairs, general maintenance, and small roofing jobs. You’ll also support the upkeep of our swimming pool (full training provided). Work may involve heights and confined spaces.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in construction work alongside general maintenance
  • Practical and adaptable with strong attention to detail
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Driving licence required
