Estates Manager & Surveyor

This full-time position is based in Cambridge and offers a salary of £51,106 - £55,319 depending on experience.
The Vacancy
Full-time · Cambridge. We are seeking an experienced Estates Manager & Surveyor to play a key role in maintaining, enhancing, and developing our historic College estate. Working closely with the Director of Estates, you will oversee planned maintenance, small–medium refurbishment projects, and compliance across a diverse and unique portfolio of buildings. You will manage the Maintenance Manager and help support a skilled team of trades staff, ensuring high-quality workmanship, effective contractor oversight, and strong budgetary control. Your insight will help shape long-term strategies for the estate, including sustainability improvements and future development planning.
What we're looking for
- Degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, or equivalent
- Strong experience managing maintenance and construction projects
- Knowledge of building pathology, regulations, and industry standards
- Proven contract management and team leadership skills
- Experience working with historic or listed buildings
Desirable: Professional accreditation (MCIOB, MRICS, CABE) and experience managing budgets.
