The Vacancy
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is looking to recruit a Clerk of Works who will advise the Director of Estates on matters relating to maintenance, operation and construction of College buildings. Alongside responsibility for planning, communication, budget and contract management, the Clerk of Works will line manage the Maintenance Manager, overseeing work carried out on planned and reactive maintenance of College buildings and grounds. These responsibilities will be carried out whilst adhering to recognised health and safety procedures. The ideal candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in building surveying or construction management and experience of managing multiple projects across a site. Knowledge and experience of historic and listed buildings is essential. You will have a professional, detail-oriented approach to work, be an excellent problem-solver and be able to motivate and support team development. The role is aimed at individuals with an in-depth understanding of building pathology, construction practices, building regulations and industry standards. Please see the job description and person specification for further details. This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday in the College.
