Community Health Practitioner

The Vacancy
We are looking to recruit a Community Health Practitioner. The postholder will be responsive to and promote the health and well-being of undergraduate and graduate students and Fellows while they are living and working in the College by providing an effective and confidential medical and welfare service, complementing NHS and other accessible externally provided services.
This is an essential part of the College’s welfare support network which includes the Mental Health Coordinator /College Counsellor, the Senior Tutor, Pastoral Tutors and Dean of Chapel. The role will also involve liaising with student representatives, the wider University, and other medical professionals.
The ideal candidate will be a registered General Nurse and recognised Nurse Practitioner at degree level or equivalent with at least 5 years post-registration experience. It would be advantageous to be qualified in the field of mental health care relating to young adults. Alongside excellent interpersonal and computer literacy skills (including experience of maintaining a digital Healthcare Practice Management System such as Cliniko), you will be able to evidence the ability to work autonomously, in collaboration with the College Mental Health Coordinator and as part of a multi-disciplinary team reporting to the Senior Tutor. You must have experience of working with young adults and be able to manage a range of medical, psychological and other emergencies without supervision. The role will suit individuals who are passionate about their work, able to build good relationships with young adults, troubleshoot medical issues effectively, and who can exercise good judgement and discretion in the execution of their role.

This is a full-time position working 36.67 hours per week, Monday to Friday in the College. There may be a requirement for occasional weekend working. Full time hours are preferable, however, outside of University term time part-time working will be considered.
