The Vacancy

We are looking to recruit an experienced Maintenance Operative.

The Maintenance Operative will be responsible for variety of general maintenance tasks, some of which will require working at height or in confined spaces and include bricklaying, plastering, glazing repairs and minor plumbing repairs as directed by the Maintenance Manager or the Head of Department.

The ideal candidate will be able to undertake tasks both independently and as part of a team working with other building trades including contractors, as part of the overall maintenance team.

Knowledge of historic and listed buildings is essential. You will have a have proactive work ethic, the ability to problem-solve and take responsibility for operational tasks. The role will suit individuals who can work as part of a team and use own initiative, who communicate well and have meticulous standards. It is essential the postholder has a driving licence.

This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday in the College.
