Full-time | 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday)
The Vacancy
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a skilled and motivated Electrician to join our Estates Department. This is an excellent opportunity to work in one of Cambridge’s most beautiful and historic college environments, supporting a diverse and complex estate.
About the Role
Working as part of a small, multi‑disciplined Estates team and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you will deliver both reactive and planned electrical maintenance across the College’s buildings. Involving reactive and planned electrical maintenance, installations, testing, emergency response, and support for refurbishment projects, the role requires a high degree of autonomy, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- City & Guilds Part 3 (or equivalent)
- City & Guilds 2394 Test & Inspection
- City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition)
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671 and Electricity at Work Regulations
- Proven experience in electrical maintenance on complex or historic sites
- Excellent fault‑finding skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a team
- Good interpersonal and customer service skills
Desirable
- Experience supervising electrical contractors
- Experience with plant, pumps, boilers, or control systems
- Data cabling termination and testing experience
- Full, clean UK driving licence
