About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Assembly Technician to join our workshop team at the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. In this role, you will be responsible for the precision assembly of complex, high-value components and systems, supporting the delivery of cutting-edge manufacturing projects.
You will play a key part in developing innovative technologies by applying advanced assembly techniques in a collaborative and technically challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities
Precision Assembly
- Perform high-precision assembly of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems
- Interpret and follow detailed engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
- Ensure all work meets strict quality and performance standards
Equipment Operation & Maintenance
- Operate advanced assembly tools and specialised equipment
- Conduct routine maintenance, calibration, and checks to ensure optimal performance
Quality Assurance & Problem Solving
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve assembly issues
- Implement corrective actions to maintain product integrity and quality
- Support continuous improvement initiatives
Collaboration
- Work closely with engineers, designers, and fellow technicians
- Contribute to solving complex technical challenges and improving assembly processes
- Provide feedback on designs to enhance manufacturability
Documentation & Process Control
- Maintain accurate records of assembly processes and testing outcomes
- Update documentation and work instructions in line with process improvements
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Adhere to all health and safety standards and procedures
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices
Training & Development
- Mentor junior technicians and apprentices
- Support knowledge sharing and team capability development
- Stay up to date with new technologies and assembly methods
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in an advanced or precision assembly role
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and assembly instructions
- Experience working with electrical and/or electronic components
- Manual machining capability
- Strong hands-on experience with assembly tools and equipment
- Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Desirable
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies
- Relevant certifications in advanced assembly or related disciplines
