As we continue to grow, we are now seeking to strengthen our Operations and Asset Management team with a Control Centre Technical Manager based from either our Glasgow, Stirling or Castle Douglas site locations.

Main Duties and Responsibility

  • Lead the development of the Control Point service offering including:
    • Training and development of Control Point Technicians.
    • Technical trouble shooting of control systems in real-time.
    • Work in collaboration with the ControlCentre Operations Manager to ensure operational standards are upheld.
  • Act as the strategic interface between the Project Implementation team and the ControlCentre.
    • Maintain oversight of the ongoing project implementation portfolio.
    • Build and deliver project implementation plans which deliver projects on time and in line with budget.
    • Interact with clients as needed to clarify information associated with the Project Implementation process.
    • Ensure completed projects are handed on to the Operations and Commercial functions in a business-as-usual condition.
    • Work in collaboration with the ControlCentre Portfolio Manager to ensure KPI based quality plans are in place for all new projects.
    • Report and analyse the outcomes of completed projects to ensure: a culture of continuous improvement; the ControlCentre is best placed to win subsequent work from existing clients.
  • Work in conjunction with the ControlCentre Commercial Manager, the Bid Management team and the Head of ControlCentre to:
    • Maintain oversight of the ongoing bid portfolio.
    • Manage the bid / no bid process from a ControlCentre perspective.
    • Support the collation of technical information to inform pricing as required by the Bid Manager and ControlCentre Commercial Manager.
    • Interact with clients as needed to clarify information associated with the Bid Management process.
    • Identify future business opportunities.
    • Report and analyse the outcomes of bids to ensure: a culture of continuous improvement; the ControlCentre is best placed to win future work and is offering services relevant to the industry in the future.
  • Act as the strategic interface between the Innovation team and the ControlCentre.
    • Understand potential areas of collaboration to improve the ControlCentre technical environment.
    • Identify and exploit opportunities for process automation.
    • Represent the company externally to maintain oversight of innovation opportunities.
  • Maintain strategic oversight of future modifications to the Grid Code.
    • Work in conjunction with the Head of ControlCentre and Head of Grid Services to manage grid code changes, mitigating or developing ControlCentre policies and operations accordingly.
    • Participate in the strategic interface relationship with the National Energy System Operator (NESO), Transmission System Operator (TSO) and local Distribution Network Operators (DNO’s).
  • Support the ControlCentre Portfolio Manager with the ongoing management of clients covering the provision of routine performance data, periodic client facing performance reviews and ad-hoc technical queries.
  • Support the Head of ControlCentre as required.

Job Details

This is a Permanent, Full-Time role, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
