Job Description

The Governing Board of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, forward-thinking and adaptable Teaching Assistant, Level 4 (Grade 7), 32.5 hours per week, starting 1st September 2026, (term time only, plus 5 INSET days) who will make a positive impact on ensuring excellent outcomes for our children.

We are looking for a motivated HLTA to join our Early Years team. Working under the guidance of the class teacher you will:

  • Plan, deliver and assess learning activities for groups and individuals across the EYFS, contributing to whole-class teaching as required
  • Support the development of children’s communication, language and literacy (with a strong emphasis on CLL and early reading), numeracy and personal development
  • Create a purposeful, nurturing learning environment that reflects children’s interests and cultural backgrounds
  • Develop and implement pupil-focused plans, contribute to assessments, record progress and help ensure children make strong, sustained progress
  • Work collaboratively with staff, parents, external agencies and volunteers; contribute to team meetings and support induction and mentoring of other teaching assistants where appropriate
  • Contribute to the Catholic life of the school through supporting liturgy, prayer and pupils’ spiritual, moral and cultural development
