Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the Christian ethos and culture of the school, leading acts of worship and implementing the Governing Body’s policy on Religious Education.
  • Plan and teach according to pupils' educational needs, set and mark work, manage the classroom effectively, and develop a stimulating learning environment.
  • Assess, record and report on pupils' development, progress and attainment, set targets, and maintain records on personal and social needs.
  • Participate in long-term, medium and short-term planning, review programmes of work and teaching materials, and lead an area of the curriculum.
  • Contribute to a climate of mutual support, participate in performance management, and supervise teaching assistants and volunteers.
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies, promote equality and diversity, and maintain confidentiality.

Person Specification

Essential qualifications include Qualified Teacher Status, an Honours degree or equivalent, and successful primary teaching experience. Desirable: Practising Catholic. Key skills include knowledge of the National Curriculum, effective teaching and learning strategies, understanding of how children learn, ability to adapt teaching, build relationships, and knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour management. A DBS check and pre-employment health check are required.
