FULL DESCRIPTION
Import Merchandiser (temporary contract)
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] based in Alfreton, Derbyshire, is hiring an Import Merchandiser for a 12-month temporary contract. The role ensures efficient management of stockholding, order critical path, and supplier coordination.
Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently manage stock-holding of designated factories to ensure stock availability on time.
- Work with the Buying Manager to manage confirmed buys/order volume data in line with the Buying critical path.
- Manage order critical path from placement through to delivery, ensuring suppliers meet production deadlines.
- Split monthly buys by territory and work with Stock Control team to reserve stock.
- Work with freight forwarders for timely transit and correct documentation.
- Build strong relationships with factories, hold regular meetings, and resolve issues.
- Collaborate with fabric merchandising team to ensure fabric availability.
- Communicate delivery dates to customer sales team and maintain system accuracy.
- Work with Design and Garment Tech Teams for forward season ranges.
- Manage supplier production in line with CSR objectives.
Requirements
Essential:
- Previous merchandising experience from retail or import background.
- Drive and resilience to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Resourceful decision-making and ability to handle multiple projects.
- High level of integrity and excellent communication skills.
- High IT competency including ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Team commitment and ability to work independently.
- Ability to engage clearly with all stakeholders.
Desirable:
- Experience with Business Central or similar ERP.
- Knowledge of Supply Chain environment.
- Experience with Far Eastern suppliers.
- Passion for the outdoors.
