Position

Your Role & Impact

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical plant and equipment
  • Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime
  • Conduct routine inspections and servicing of plant machinery.
  • Work closely with the production teams to minimize equipment downtime and improve productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and equipment efficiency.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as required in line with engineering drawings and specifications
  • Work as part of a team and liaise with external contractors when necessary.
  • Able to Strip, inspect, repair, and rebuild mechanical assemblies including gearboxes, pumps, motors, conveyors, bearings, and shafts

Requirements

Required skills and responsibilities

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • A recognised engineering qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, HNC, or equivalent) in mechanical engineering.
  • Effective problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and respond to callouts when required.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Carry out risk assessments and follow safe systems of work (LOTO, permits, RAMS)
  • Maintain high housekeeping standards
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing production demands
  • Strong attention to detail and quality of work
  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach
  • Overtime as required to support business needs
