OVERVIEW

UBTC was founded in 1999, initially operating a one boat service from South East to Central London. Today UBTC has a fleet of 21 vessels, serves 24 piers and carries over 4.6 million passengers, providing a unique transport offering to London’s commuters and visitors.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish an effective stock management process to track all materials, consumables and equipment.
  • Establish and maintain an asset register.
  • Coordinate all deliveries into the business.
  • Inventory control management – track goods inwards and outwards.
  • Administer and manage Sum up – stock control system.
  • Implement Stocktake routine.
  • Support the department with routine administration and ensure efficient running of the stores department.
  • Ensure assets (portable equipment) are maintained, repaired and replaced as required.
  • Support Managers with product/equipment ordering.
  • Ensure safety of stock.
  • Ensure storage areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
  • Report any stock discrepancies, damaged goods, or shortages to the supervisor promptly.

  • Act as role model and champion of our company values, assisting the operation to integrate them into local processes and literature.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining effective teamwork across our diverse business.
  • Ensure that all relevant information is communicated speedily and accurately.
  • Ensure that all materials and resources are effectively and efficiently utilised to minimise waste and reduce costs.

  • Undertake any other relevant duties or reasonable requests as requested by a member of the senior management team.

Working Conditions

  • Work may involve lifting and moving stock items.
  • Work is primarily based in storage and stock management areas.
  • May involve early morning deliveries or flexible hours depending on operational needs.

Essential

  • Previous stock control / management experience including an understanding of COSHH.
  • Strong computer literacy.
  • Positive with a “can do” attitude.
  • Ability to take a flexible approach in the working environment.
  • Team player who enjoys working in a high achieving environment and also capable of working autonomously.
  • A commitment to delivering the best.
  • Effective external facing communication skills.

Desirable

  • Previous relevant experience within a transport / marine industry.
