FULL DESCRIPTION

Director of Maritime Infrastructure & Facilities

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Director of Maritime Infrastructure & Facilities to lead the Maritime Infrastructure Department. This full-time role is based in London and reports to the Chief Operating Officer.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the Maritime Infrastructure Department, being the designated person for EMPROC.
  • Accountable for day-to-day operations to meet contractual obligations with safety and efficiency.
  • Accountable for all Maritime Assets including Piers, equipment, employee welfare spaces, the Welcome Barge, and Head Office Clipper House.
  • Accountable for third party relationships, including with tenants where [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is the landlord.
  • Lead on regulatory requirements such as river works licenses.
  • Accountable for business cases, purchasing, budget, and contract management for the Maritime Infrastructure department.
  • Support London Cruise and Yacht marine logistics for cruise ship operations.
  • Identify environmental and sustainability projects to reduce waste and energy consumption.
  • Accountable for Environmental Management System and ISO 14001:2015.
  • General Facilities Management for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] locations.

Main Activities

  • Maintain and develop Maritime Infrastructure organisational remit.
  • Create business plans and project plans in line with corporate strategy.
  • Develop preventative maintenance schedules across piers, equipment, and offices.
  • Ensure processes for tenants and landlords.
  • Deliver safe and compliant pier services for third-party clients.
  • Define and deliver KPIs for cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Define strategic budgets for long-term investments.
  • Negotiate and manage annual budgets.
  • Deliver legislative requirements including River Works Licences.
  • Coordinate with internal departments.
  • Define training requirements with [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Safety Department.
  • Control non-staff costs and purchases.
  • Source and manage third-party contractors.
  • Plan with Fleet and Crew Operations for London Cruise and Yacht customers.
  • Provide operational insight to designs for new piers and infrastructure.
  • Develop teamwork within departments.
  • Provide high-level customer service and new technology information.
  • Assist with HR matters.
  • Seek ways to improve performance.
  • Undertake other duties as required.
  • Comply with Health and Safety regulations.
  • Communicate information accurately.
  • Minimise waste and reduce costs.

Requirements

  • Ability to foster close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in an environment requiring excellence in safety, operations, and customer service.
  • Extensive marine knowledge such as serving as Master or similar office-based role.
  • Strategic thinking and management level operation.
  • Flexible approach including on-call and weekend work.
