Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join an established team of 11 FTE Respiratory Consultants at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], providing care across two purpose built wards, including an RSU, and a comprehensive outpatient service delivered within a dedicated Respiratory Centre. The centre is well supported by a skilled team of respiratory physiologists and experienced clinical nurse specialists. [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] provides a Cystic Fibrosis service under an SLA with the University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust and is one of 24 specialist respiratory centres in England for ILD. We are seeking a Consultant with an interest in Cystic Fibrosis, Bronchiectasis, Interstitial Lung Disease and/or Sleep Medicine.
Main Duties of the Job
- Provide and develop acute medical and respiratory services for the Trust in collaboration with clinical colleagues.
- Take ongoing responsibility for patients under their care.
- Participate in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching.
- Recruit patients to NIHR trials on the respiratory portfolio.
- Contribute to the bronchoscopy service including EBUS, and share general acute medical takes.
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with medical colleagues and participate in clinical meetings.
- Supervise and appraise trainee doctors.
- Demonstrate involvement in clinical governance, risk management and audit.

- Essential: Educational Qualifications, Research & Audit, Education and Training.
- Desirable: Higher degree, Subspecialty training or equivalent, Published research.
Experience & Skills
- Essential: Experience relevant to the post, Skills to undertake the role, Management Skills, Leadership Skills.
