Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Officer to join the Early Intervention & Prevention team within the Early Learning and Childcare Sector dedicated to supporting children with additional support needs. You will have a high level of skills, knowledge and experience in supporting children with additional support needs and have a passion for promoting and delivering high quality inclusive pedagogies, play and supportive interventions. You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of current inclusive practices, theory and knowledge into practice. You will be confident in identifying additional support needs and completing assessments to support children with additional support needs and sharing these with their families. You will work as an effective team member and have experience of establishing positive nurturing relationships with children, families and professionals. You will have knowledge and experience of working with a team around the child and implementing and working alongside other professionals to support the needs of the child and family. You will be confident and have experience of delivering family engagement sessions. This is a secondment for a year within [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Children’s Services. If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership. You will be required to work peripatetic across [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] establishments, therefore a full driver’s licence is essential.

Requirements

  • HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent
  • Registered with or currently seeking registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC)
  • Experience working with children with additional support needs
  • Full driving licence
  • PVG membership (or willingness to obtain)
