Bar Manager

Requirements and responsibilities:

  • Excellent communicator
  • Good knowledge and understanding of the till system
  • Setting up the bar in accordance to the shift
  • Making sure the daily job list is completed
  • Preparing Alcoholic/non alcoholic drinks
  • Interacting with customers
  • Assessing customer needs/Age/Sobriety/Preferences
  • Good knowledge of wine list and drink options
  • Good knowledge of all the food menus and options
  • Answering the phone taking bookings accurately
  • Taking food and drink orders where necessary
  • Restocking and replenishing , communicating where stock is low
  • Communicating well with the host/Kitchen/Fellow bar staff
  • Where there is a problem , making sure that it is communicated to the host or a senior member of staff so that it can be dealt with accordingly
  • Providing good handovers to colleagues
  • Providing support to colleagues where needed
  • Effective delegation of responsibility on prime shifts
  • Cashing up

  • Liaising with management with regard to disciplinary or customer problems
