FULL DESCRIPTION

Assistant Editor

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] ([Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]) is seeking an Assistant Editor to join the Editorial Services team in London. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Fact-checking, copy-editing and proofreading [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] publications, to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] House Style (including text, maps and graphics).
  • Project-managing [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] publications, including research papers for print and digital formats.
  • Copy-editing and proofreading [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] newsletters and other Institute communications, to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] House Style.
  • Participating as necessary in product development and sales and marketing discussions for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] publications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience (essential).
  • Demonstrable ability to copy-edit and proofread in English and a sharp eye for detail (essential).
  • Basic experience of relationship management (essential).
  • An understanding of international affairs or global military issues (advantageous).
