Project Finance Manager

Most of our staff are local employees and include a growing number of women. Our primary duty is to serve people affected by conflict, clearing landmines and the explosive remnants of war that threaten lives and livelihoods long after fighting has finished. We make land safe where war has ended, while also assisting those affected by active conflict and endemic violence. The Transformation Directorate provides technical leadership, expertise, and support to [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s operations worldwide in relation to safety, standards, technology, and training to ensure our work is safe, efficient, and impactful. It has a central role in the implementation of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s Technology Strategy and the associated fundraising and projects.
About the Role
This role sits within the HQ Finance team and is dedicated to providing financial management support to the Transformation Directorate. This will include the drafting and reviewing of budgets, monitoring spending, and assisting with contract management for a wide range of donor funding from governments, institutions, companies, and private philanthropy. The role will require the ability to understand the breadth and variety of activities, and the stakeholders involved within the HQ and [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] field programmes. It will also involve a variety of types of budgets, from small one-off collaborations to multi-year multi-country contracts. In particular, this role will be responsible for managing the financial side of the Technology Accelerator Fund (a fundraising initiative dedicated to technology) and working closely with the Philanthropy department to ensure timely financial reporting. The role is an essential part of delivering the Technology Strategy to drive forward the safety, efficiency and effectiveness of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]'s global operations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and monitor project budgets and conduct regular budget reviews to ensure that projects stay within budget.
- Produce timely and accurate financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and oversee all financial transactions related to the projects.
- Ensure operational plans are reflected in the budgets/forecasts.
- Develop tools and processes for monitoring staff time recharges across multiple grants.
- Oversee the financial elements of the Technology Accelerator Fund.
- Other administrative duties as and when required.

Requirements
- QBE or a professional or part qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA etc)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong numeracy and IT skills essential, and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office.
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Experience developing and monitoring budgets
Desirable Requirements:
- Experience using ERP planning systems
- Familiarity with financial management in the non-profit sector
