Early Years Assistant - Lunch Time cover
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Group is hiring an Early Years Assistant to provide lunch time cover at Little Adventures Nursery in Taunton, Somerset. This part-time, permanent role offers £12.71-£13 per hour, 15-20 hours per week.
Role Overview
We are seeking an Early Years Assistant to provide lunch time cover at our setting in Taunton, Somerset. The successful candidate will support children during meal and play times, promote positive behaviour, and help maintain a safe, clean and inclusive environment.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Supervise children during lunch and outdoor/indoor play, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
- Support children with eating, including assisting with cutlery and encouraging healthy habits.
- Support personal care routines (handwashing, toileting) respectfully.
- Promote positive behaviour through clear, calm interactions.
- Help set up and clear away lunch areas, ensuring a clean environment.
- Follow safeguarding policies and report concerns immediately.
- Work collaboratively with nursery staff and build positive relationships with families.
Person Specification
- Previous experience with young children desirable but not essential; training provided.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, patient, and calm under pressure.
- Willingness to follow routines and safeguarding procedures.
- Basic literacy for record keeping; basic IT skills desirable.
