FULL DESCRIPTION
Postdoctoral Clinical Fellow
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is offering a research opportunity for a postdoctoral clinical fellow in the Antibody Selection Laboratory led by Edward Carr. The lab studies antibody responses to vaccination, focusing on B and T cell biology and serological responses, with an interest in IgA nephropathy. Clinicians from any speciality are welcome to apply.
About the Role
The antibody selection laboratory seeks to understand why, and how, individuals make particular antibodies when faced with an antigen. We use vaccination as a tool to explore this question, as a timed antigenic exposure. We track serological responses, and the cellular changes in B cells, T cells, and other immune cells during these responses, and try to understand differences between people. We have a growing interest in the pathogenesis of IgA nephropathy. Clinicians interested in antibodies as mediators of disease, or potential therapeutics, would be welcome to discuss projects. Whilst my own medical specialty in nephrology, antibody-related diseases affect every organ, and we therefore welcome applications from clinicians of any speciality.
Contact
Interested clinicians should contact the lab to discuss potential projects. For more information about the lab, visit Edward Carr's profile.
