Public Affairs & Policy Manager
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Public Affairs & Policy Manager to lead strategic engagement in Westminster, develop evidence-based policy, and manage parliamentary relationships to address health inequalities for Black communities. This is a full-time, permanent role based in London with a salary of £43,590 - £45,895.

Work Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours per week (Permanent)
Salary: £43,590 - £45,895 (depending on experience)

Job Purpose: The Public Affairs & Policy Manager will play a strategic leadership role in developing and delivering [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s Public Affairs & Policy strategy. This role is central to amplifying [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and wider community’s voice in national policy debates, particularly in relation to health equity and wider social determinants of health.
Key Responsibilities
- Parliamentary Engagement and Strategic Collaboration: Build relationships with MPs, Peers, Government Ministers; act as primary contact for APPG on Black Health; represent [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] at committees and events; organise roundtables and workshops.
- Policy Development and Research: Develop public affairs strategy; prepare evidence-based policy briefings, submissions, reports; monitor policy trends; translate research into accessible messages.
- Public Affairs & Press Engagement: Lead public affairs engagement; draft press responses; prepare briefings for media; provide expert policy advice.
- Team Management: Provide leadership and line management; identify development needs.
Person Specification
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in public affairs, policy development, or advocacy, ideally within health or community-focused organisations.
- In-depth knowledge of UK parliamentary processes and policy frameworks.
- Strong ability to draft high-quality policy documents.
- Excellent research and analytical skills.
- Demonstrated success in building stakeholder relationships.
- Familiarity with issues affecting Black Caribbean and African community.
Desirable: Proficiency in using digital platforms for outreach and monitoring.
