Core Testing Skills

  • Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and software testing life cycles.
  • Proficient in requirement analysis, test design, and writing detailed test cases.
  • Experienced in exploratory and session-based testing.
  • Skilled in test planning, scheduling, and effort estimation.
  • Sound knowledge of defect management, bug life cycle, and root cause analysis.

Technical / Domain Knowledge

  • Expertise in web and mobile testing, including responsive UI/UX validation across browsers and devices.
  • Hands-on API testing experience using tools like Postman or Swagger with JSON/XML validation.
  • Proficiency in database and SQL for backend and data verification.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts – HTTP/HTTPS, cookies, caching, and request-response headers.
  • Ability to grasp complex business logic quickly across domains.

Tools & Utilities

  • Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
  • Familiar with browser developer tools, Charles, or Fiddler for network analysis.

Quality & Compliance

  • Awareness of security and privacy best practices.
  • Understanding of performance testing fundamentals and spotting bottlenecks.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking to identify edge cases and potential failures.
