Core Testing Skills
- Strong understanding of SDLC/STLC and software testing life cycles.
- Proficient in requirement analysis, test design, and writing detailed test cases.
- Experienced in exploratory and session-based testing.
- Skilled in test planning, scheduling, and effort estimation.
- Sound knowledge of defect management, bug life cycle, and root cause analysis.
Technical / Domain Knowledge
- Expertise in web and mobile testing, including responsive UI/UX validation across browsers and devices.
- Hands-on API testing experience using tools like Postman or Swagger with JSON/XML validation.
- Proficiency in database and SQL for backend and data verification.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts – HTTP/HTTPS, cookies, caching, and request-response headers.
- Ability to grasp complex business logic quickly across domains.
Tools & Utilities
- Experience with defect tracking and test management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, or Bugzilla.
- Familiar with browser developer tools, Charles, or Fiddler for network analysis.
Quality & Compliance
- Awareness of security and privacy best practices.
- Understanding of performance testing fundamentals and spotting bottlenecks.
Soft Skills & Mindset
- Strong analytical and critical thinking to identify edge cases and potential failures.
- Excellent communication and documentation for clear bug reports and test cases.
