Senior Wi-Fi Test Engineer

Key Responsibilities
- Perform integration and performance testing for deployed Wi-Fi gateways, extenders, home security devices, and other managed Wi-Fi clients
- Develop and execute test strategies and test plans
- Understand customer requirements and create detailed test cases accordingly
- Execute existing test plans while adhering to testing and release schedules
- Collaborate with product managers and development engineers to define and document product features, functionality, and requirements
- Work closely with QA, software, and product engineering teams to create, maintain, and enhance Wi-Fi test plans and automation frameworks
- Participate actively in issue triage, debugging, and troubleshooting activities
- Clearly document testing processes, findings, and workflows
- Ensure effective communication with peers, stakeholders, and management teams
Qualifications / Skills / Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Wi-Fi/RF testing, computer architecture, and data communications
- Strong experience in testing wireless technologies including Access Points, Routers, Extenders, and IEEE 802.11 b/g/n/ac/ax standards
- Good understanding of real-world wireless environments and connectivity behavior
- Strong networking knowledge covering TCP/IP, UDP, IPv4/IPv6, Ethernet, DHCP, DNS, ICMP, ARP, NAT, Bridging, and Switching
- Familiarity with industry-standard Wi-Fi testing tools such as Veriwave, IXIA Chariot, Wireshark, Omnipeek, and Savius
- Experience with secondary home networking technologies including Bluetooth, Zigbee, MoCA, and Ethernet in DOCSIS environments
- Exposure to RF chambers and testing setups like Octoscope and Lindgren
- Comfortable with scripting and automation using any scripting language
- Ability to work independently and drive tasks with minimal supervision
- Strong expertise in designing or extending automation and test frameworks
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills
- Working knowledge of UNIX/Linux-based systems and command-line tools for analysis and automation
- Strong understanding of the complete product development lifecycle, including requirements, implementation, QA, deployment, and maintenance
- Ability to manage multiple projects collaboratively across teams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present updates and drive discussions with leadership teams
