About the Role

• £44,432 basic salary + Car/Car Allowance + Benefits
• Based at either Blackburn HWRC or Darwen HWRC - covers both sites
• 6 Month Fixed Term Contract / Secondment

What will I be doing?

Reporting to the Production Operations Manager, the Site Manager will be responsible for managing the daily activities of the site.

• Full operational responsibility including health, safety and environmental compliance; managing a team; managing performance KPIs for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and the local authority client.
• Operations include operating mobile plant, achieving high recycling and recovery rates, material flow management, excellent customer service to the local authority client and public.
• Seek out value adding opportunities from the operations managed.

What are the requirements?

• Strong leadership in an HWRC or public-facing waste environment
• Proven ability to lead and develop site-based teams, setting clear expectations around safety, customer service, and operational performance
• Positive, solution-focused approach with a can-do attitude
• Commitment to safety and compliance in a regulated environment
• Resilience and adaptability under operational pressures
• Flexibility to support regional operations with travel
• COTC / WAMITAB Level 4 – Hazardous Waste Transfer (desirable)
