[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Catering Assistant in Essex, UK. This is a full-time, on-site position at £12.71 per hour, term-time only (Monday to Friday, 15 hours/week).

Job Introduction

As Catering Assistant, your core task is to be the face of our service, delivering excellent customer service with a smile, while getting hands-on with the preparation of delicious, nutritious, and high-quality meals made with fresh, sustainable ingredients.

Please note: This position is to start in April

Role Responsibility

  • Service Excellence: Work as a dynamic part of the team to create a fantastic dining experience for all our students and staff—you’re key to lunchtime happiness!
  • Customer Champion: Serve food and operate the tills (full training provided).
  • Culinary Support: Jump in and assist the chefs with meal preparation.
  • Keep it Sparkling: Ensure a clean and organised kitchen environment at all times.
  • Safety First: Adhering to all guidelines, including Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies.

The Ideal Candidate

  • A friendly, versatile personality with energy to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Previous catering or food service experience is a bonus.
  • Basic understanding of Health and Safety practices.
  • Food Hygiene Level 2 is great, but not essential—we provide training.

Package Description

  • Monday to Friday only – no weekend shifts.
  • 15 hours per week with no late nights.
  • 38 working weeks per year (term-time calendar).
  • £12.71 per hour.
