FULL DESCRIPTION

Head of FP&A

Location: Bristol | Salary: £125,000–£140,000 + bonus + benefits | Type: Permanent, Hybrid (2+ days in office)

Opportunity Description

We're exclusively partnering with a large international group to appoint a Head of FP&A into a newly created, highly sensitive senior role. This is a critical hire within a business preparing for a potential IPO within the next 12–18 months, making this one of the most strategically important FP&A positions in the organisation.

This is not a standard FP&A leadership role. You will sit within Group Finance, reporting to the Director of FP&A with regular exposure to the Group CFO, and play a central role in building IPO-ready planning, reporting, and governance frameworks. The business is undergoing a significant transformation, including a consumer-facing rebrand and operational evolution across its international footprint.

Key Focus Areas

  • Lead and scale Group FP&A (budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning)
  • Build listed-company-grade reporting, governance, and controls
  • Drive consistency, insight, and performance visibility across the Group
  • Develop scalable FP&A processes suitable for a future public company
  • Partner closely with senior leadership, including Group CFO exposure
  • Support strategic decision-making across a complex, multi-entity structure
  • Help shape the future operating model of Group Finance

What We're Looking For

  • Strong FP&A leadership background in FTSE and/or IPO-readiness environments
  • Comfortable operating in fast-paced, ambiguous, evolving organisations
  • Hands-on operator with a strong delivery mindset (this is not a 'pure oversight' role)
  • Strong financial modelling, planning, and performance analysis capability
  • Experience with Oracle or similar ERP systems advantageous
  • Confident stakeholder manager with senior executive exposure
  • Proven ability to build structure in complex environments

Environment & Structure

  • PE-backed group with a clear IPO trajectory (12–18 months outlook)
  • Highly visible role with direct impact on IPO readiness
  • Group Finance based in the UK
  • Team expansion planned (additional FP&A hires underway)
  • Hybrid working: minimum 2 days per week in office
