Part-Time Parish Administrator
Closing Date: 30/06/2026 | Hours: 9am-1pm on two weekday mornings | Salary: £16 per hour | Based at: Chiswick, W4 3DY
About The Role
This role is at the very heart of church life at St Michael's Church. You’ll be working with the Vicar and Churchwardens to ensure the smooth running of services and events. You’ll be part of our Staff team which comprises the Vicar, Associate Priest, two Licensed Lay Ministers and our full time Youth and Worship Leader. You’ll have flexibility to work both at the church and from home.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage email, post and phone messages and respond to/refer as appropriate (with maintenance and purchasing issues referred to Churchwardens and all bookings issues to the Bookings Manager)
- Maintain accurate records on ChurchSuite (Church’s database system) and Shared Drive (cloud-based filing system)
- Maintain accurate Parish Calendars
- Prepare Sunday readings and children’s colouring sheets + readings for special services and file in Shared Drive
- Keep DBS checks and Safeguarding Training up to date with regard to people in particular roles and be the DBS Evidence Checker
- Keep ‘achurchnearyou.com’ webpage up to date
- Arrange access to Church and Centre for maintenance purposes
- Help the Vicar and Churchwardens to produce Annual Report and Annual Returns to the Diocese and Charity Commissioners
- Other administrative tasks, as required
Person Specification
- Highly organised and someone who pays attention to detail and can prioritise and use their initiative
- Able to handle confidential information with care and accuracy
- Proactive, dependable and able to work with initiative
- A thoughtful and professional communicator
- Confident using Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and filing in Cloud-based systems
- Working knowledge of ChurchSuite is desirable but not essential
- Willing to work flexibly when needed
- In sympathy with the Christian faith and, ideally, familiar with the life and structures of the Church of England, or willing to grow in that understanding
- Right to work in the UK
- Willing to undertake a basic DBS check
