Senior Strategy Officer
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Senior Strategy Officer to lead on delivering a green and inclusive economy as part of the Local Economy Team. The role involves project management, research, policy development, and partnership working to support the council's Borough Plan commitments.
The Role
This role is part of the Local Economy Team, in the Chief Executive’s department, leading on the delivery of the Council Borough Plan commitment to deliver ‘a green and inclusive economy’. Key commitments under this promise include supporting 5,000 local people into jobs, including 1000 new green jobs.
The role holder will lead and manage projects, including research and policy development, governance, community and business planning, commissioning, and performance and review as part of the broader work of the Strategy and Economy department and work collaboratively with partners to help deliver wider council commitments. The projects aim to help the council achieve a one council approach to change, delivering savings whilst continuing to support some of the most vulnerable people in our borough.
The role is varied and can at times be complex and demanding. It is a position that will enable you to engage with a wide range of people and services. While working within a team, you will also have contact with the most senior officers and with elected members of the Council.
About You
You should have the ability to work collaboratively and purposefully with partners in other departments of the Council and in partner organisations locally and nationally to help deliver council commitments.
You will need to display leadership qualities to manage and deliver high profile and crosscutting projects across a range of strategy functions. You must also be able to engage effectively with a wide range of people and services, including senior officers and elected members of the council.

Please note these roles are being advertised - one permanent and two fixed term contract for 18 months.
