About the role
We are looking for a motivated and customer-focused General Service Assistant to support our catering team in delivering a high-quality food service. You will assist with food preparation, cooking, and service while ensuring excellent customer service standards are consistently achieved.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the preparation, cooking, and service of food in line with approved recipes and menu cycles
- Deliver friendly, efficient customer service in line with company standards
- Maintain portion control, food quality, and presentation standards
- Operate digital systems to ensure accurate and efficient transactions
- Adhere to cash handling and safeguarding procedures
- Ensure food is served and held at correct temperatures, completing required checks
- Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant FOH environment at all times
- Attend team briefings and complete required training
- Maintain high standards of personal hygiene, uniform, and PPE compliance
- Report hazards, near misses, accidents, or faulty equipment promptly
- Complete opening and closing procedures, ensuring security requirements are met
- Communicate effectively with managers, colleagues, customers, and client representatives
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by management
What You'll Need
Essential: Good verbal communication skills, Experience in a similar role within the service industry. Desirable: Experience working within a military environment, Level 1 Food Safety, HSWA, and COSHH certificates.
