About the Role

40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, site-based in Belfast. Subject to security clearance – applicants required to have at least 5 years residency in the UK. Minimum Level 4 in construction or built environment required. Must have BIM knowledge and experience. Applicants must be 17+ due to driving requirement.

We are looking for a CAD Technician to support the digital development of a unique and complex government estate. In this role, you’ll maintain accurate drawings, spatial data, asset records and BIM information while supporting the development of Digital Twins and wider digital transformation initiatives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Create, amend and maintain accurate 2D CAD drawings in line with established standards.
  • Support the development and maintenance of 3D BIM models and Digital Twins.
  • Work with point clouds, scanned surveys and BIM data to build accurate digital representations of estate buildings.
  • Maintain and upload drawings and asset data into the CAFM system.
  • Integrate outputs from surveys including condition, spatial, functional suitability and environmental data into digital systems.
  • Collect, verify and manage asset data using Excel and site surveys.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Asset Management, Projects, Maintenance and Commercial teams.
  • Produce visuals, reports and analysis to support reporting and stakeholder engagement.
  • Conduct regular site visits to validate building layouts and asset information.
  • Contribute to compliance, lifecycle planning and estate transformation initiatives.
  • Share best practice and continue developing your skills within the Asset Management community of practice.

What You Bring

  • Accurate digital estate records – up-to-date 2D drawings, BIM models, spatial layouts and asset registers.
  • Reliable space and utilisation data.
  • High-quality, well-managed data stored within CAFM systems, Excel and reporting tools.
  • Strong collaboration with colleagues, surveyors and stakeholders.
  • Positive contribution to digital estate transformation.
  • Recognised AutoCAD qualification ideally within a built environment discipline.
  • Experience with complex, multi-layered CAD drawings.
  • Strong understanding of CAD standards and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Knowledge of BIM processes and standards (ideally BIM Level 2).
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel for site visits.

What Would Be Great to Have (Desirable)

  • AutoCAD experience in estates, facilities management or construction.
  • Experience using CAFM systems.
  • Understanding of facilities management, building assets and compliance.
  • Knowledge of lifecycle planning and reporting for large estates.
  • Confidence using digital tools and systems.
