We are looking for a dynamic Front of House Supervisor to join our team at Shrewsbury School, one of the UK's most distinguished independent schools. Situated in the heart of Shrewsbury, this historic institution is renowned for its academic excellence, rich traditions, and vibrant student community. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring seamless daily dining operations and delivering exceptional service for prestigious events, including formal dinners, receptions, and school celebrations.
- Location: Shrewsbury School, Kingsland House, Kennedy Road, Shrewsbury SY3 7BA
- Contract Type: Permanent
- Shift Pattern: 6:30 - 15:00 and 12:00 - 20:30
- Hours: 40 hours a week, 5 over 7
- Rate of Pay: £13.94 per hour
What You’ll Be Doing
Daily Operations:
- Overseeing the front-of-house service across dining halls, ensuring a seamless and welcoming experience.
- Leading, training, and motivating the front-of-house team to provide first-class service.
- Coordinating with the kitchen team to guarantee efficient meal service and accommodate special requests.
- Managing table settings, seating arrangements, and ensuring immaculate dining areas.
- Monitoring stock levels of front-of-house supplies, from tableware to linens.
Special Events & Hospitality:
- Supervising and executing high-profile events, including formal dinners and themed banquets.
- Liaising with event organisers, school leadership, and external vendors to perfect every detail.
- Overseeing event setups, ensuring a polished and professional presentation.
- Leading the team through events with confidence, ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
- Enforcing health and safety standards at all times.
