Job Description
This is a remote position.
About the Role
Our client, a UK B2B marketing and growth partner, is currently looking for a mid-senior Azure architect who can own their cloud infrastructure end to end, from networking and security through to frontend delivery and AI integration. This isn't a "design it and hand it off" role. You'll be hands-on across the full stack, working closely with technical leadership to build and scale a multi-tenant SaaS platform. You will report to the CTO, who has experience in building software for leading businesses and governments across the globe.
What will make you a great fit for this role?
You think ahead, spotting infrastructure issues before they become problems. You document what you build without being asked. You debug calmly under pressure at any hour. You see the connections between systems rather than treating each service as its own island. You genuinely care about the mission, not just doing the job.
What you'll do
- Design, build, and maintain Azure infrastructure, including VNets, private endpoints, managed identities, and multi-environment deployment pipelines
- Architect and implement multi-tenant systems with robust data isolation and tenant-scoped authentication
- Integrate AI capabilities (e.g. LLM APIs, RAG patterns, and vector search) into production-grade applications as core product features
- Own and manage the CI/CD pipeline to ensure efficient, reliable delivery
- Develop and deploy backend services using C# and .NET Core
- Contribute to frontend development using React and TypeScript where required
- Produce clear, high-quality technical documentation
- Support and mentor team members, contributing to overall team development
Requirements
- Relevant university degree, with 3-5 years of experience
- Proven, production-level experience with Azure, with strong operational knowledge of VNets, Key Vault, App Services, and Cosmos DB (including partition design, RU budgeting, and indexing)
- Senior-level C# and .NET Core skills, with experience building clean, well-structured APIs and using async patterns
- Solid frontend development capability using React and TypeScript
- Deep understanding of identity and authentication, including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, and SSO across B2B environments (e.g. Entra ID, Auth0)
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (e.g. OpenAI, Anthropic, or Azure AI Foundry) into production applications
- Experience designing and building secure systems, with a security-first mindset
- Good understanding of data protection and privacy considerations, including GDPR and EU data residency requirements
- Based in South Africa, with own work-from-home setup
- Ability to work remotely
- South African citizen (or authorisation to work in South Africa)
Personal Attributes
- Naturally curious, with a strong interest in learning and applying new technologies
- Values speed, innovation, and iterative execution
- Resilient and adaptable in fast-changing environments
- Highly committed with strong ownership and drive to deliver outcomes
- Able to work quickly and execute effectively under pressure
