Job Description

We are looking for a specialist in languages to join us as a Qualifications Manager. They will work within the Qualifications Development Directorate in the Languages and Business team. The post will cover the maintenance and development of our National Qualifications portfolio covering a range of languages.
The successful candidate will be required to manage the development, implementation, servicing and maintenance of a range of qualifications, associated surrounds and services to a high degree of service delivery and customer focus. In order to do this, you must be able to demonstrate experience in the following specific duties:
- Working in partnership with colleagues to ensure the effective delivery of qualifications and assessments.
- Leading, motivating and supporting teams and participating in performance management activities.
- Project manage the development and revision of allocated qualifications and associated surround ensuring that these meet the specified needs of customers.
- Contribute to the creation of the business area’s operational plan and manage allocated budget and staff resources to deliver the operational plan in line with the Directorate’s Business Objectives.
You must also have the following skills and experience:
- Have an understanding of effective valid and reliable assessment within a languages/literacy context
- Be a skilled and credible communicator both verbally and in writing.
- Build, develop and manage key relationships with stakeholders and partners.
- Demonstrate an analytical, methodical and creative approach to problem solving.
- Educated to SCQF Level 9 (SVQ 4/Degree) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
