Job Description

Based in Scotland, the qualifications we create are valued and used worldwide. We are looking for a Senior Desktop Engineer to work within the Service Delivery team. As Senior Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the overall service delivery of [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s desktop environments and applications in line with user requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide 3rd line technical support and advice to desktop engineers and act as an escalation point for desktop engineers, external customers and 3rd party organisations to resolve queries raised while fulfilling agreed service level agreements.
  • Deal with and troubleshoot system problems to diagnose and solve both hardware and software faults to ensure continuity of service for users.
  • Support network, desktop availability, reliability, security and systems performance by using monitoring tools for measuring performance and troubleshooting equipment problems.

Skills and Experience Required

  • Working knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP/IP).
  • Knowledge of the installation, configuration and management of infrastructure and/or application services.
  • Educated to SCQF level 8 and/or able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
