We are looking for a Desktop Engineer to work within the Service Delivery team. As Desktop Engineer, you will be responsible for providing 1st and 2nd level support for [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s staff with technology and equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1st and second line IT support to users via phone calls, tickets and emails
• Train Service Desk Analysts and staff on IT systems
• Provide technical support and advice to external customers and 3rd party organizations
• Support network and server availability, reliability and security
• Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical staff

Required Skills and Experience

• Ability to operate [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]’s desktop packages and business systems
• Working knowledge of networking protocols (e.g. TCP/IP, UDP/IP) and services (NFS, Samba, SSH, DNS, ISCSI)
• Educated to SCQF level 7 and/or demonstrate direct relevant experience
