Teacher of the Deaf - Up to 12 month Fixed Term Contract

About the Role
As a Teacher of the Deaf, you will design, deliver, and evaluate individualised programmes of study for deaf service users within our D/Deaf Community. You will use your expertise to adapt teaching strategies, develop effective curricula, and foster a stimulating learning environment where every learner can thrive.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging sessions in Literacy, Numeracy, and IT
- Tailor learning to individual communication needs
- Develop curriculum resources and monitor progress
- Assess and track learner achievement, prepare individual learning plans
- Liaise with external agencies and work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team
- Support audiological needs and contribute to care planning
- Engage in ongoing professional development including bilingual communication skills (BSL and spoken English)
- Promote deaf culture and safeguarding standards
About You
- Qualified Teacher of the Deaf (or significant experience working with deaf learners)
- Strong knowledge of deaf education, communication approaches, and inclusive pedagogy
- Ability to adapt teaching to meet diverse learning and communication needs
- Thrives in multi-disciplinary settings and values collaborative working
- Committed to continuous professional growth and promoting D/deaf culture
