Senior Audiologist

[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is hiring a Band 6 Senior Audiologist. The role has scope for flexibility with access to adult, paediatric and balance clinics. You will have a degree in Audiology and state registration. The position is based at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal], Reading. Salary: £39,959 to £48,117 a year (permanent, full-time). Closing date: 17 May 2026.

Job summary

We are looking for an experienced Audiologist to join our team at [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. The role has scope for flexibility with access to adult, paediatric and balance clinics depending on skills, experience and interests. The service is committed to training and wider professional development set within a supportive and friendly team. You will have a degree (or equivalent) in Audiology and have obtained, or be working towards, professional state registration.

Main duties of the job

  • Clinical Role: Experience in one of the Audiology service pillars: Adult Hearing, Paediatrics or Balance. Working independently with solid underpinning knowledge. Scope to work across service pillars.
  • Management Role: Operational management of a section of the wider service, opportunity for line management and/or training supervision.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Participation in wider service development, training and supervision, completing audits and service evaluations to maintain IQIPS accreditation.

Person Specification

  • Education: MSc Audiology or equivalent; Practical competency qualification (BSc, CAC, HTS, STP). Desirable: HPCP or RCCP registration.
  • Experience: 3 years in Audiology department; adult assessment and rehabilitation; complex audiology skills. Desirable: service improvement, clinical audit, paediatric assessment, management experience.
  • Professional Skills: Competency in adult assessment/rehabilitation; diagnostic audiometric techniques to BSA/BAA standards; knowledge of complex audiology; IT literacy. Desirable: service development, clinical protocol, adult rehab or paediatrics.
  • Other: BSL Sign language level 1 or higher desirable.
