About the Role
As Peer Support Scheme Officer, you will coordinate the day-to-day delivery of the University’s Peer Support Scheme, ensuring it operates smoothly and consistently across the academic year. You will support departments in establishing and embedding peer mentoring activity, oversee student recruitment and matching processes, and provide training, guidance and ongoing support to student peer mentors. You will also contribute to evaluating the impact of peer support activity, using student feedback and participation data to inform continuous improvement and reporting to internal stakeholders.
What You Will Be Doing
- Coordinating the operation of the Peer Support Scheme, including communications, matching and record-keeping
- Supporting academic departments and services to deliver effective peer mentoring programmes
- Recruiting, training and supervising student peer mentors
- Delivering engaging training sessions in person and online
- Promoting the scheme through clear, inclusive and engaging communications
- Monitoring participation and impact, and producing reports and insights
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Student Journey Division and the Students’ Union
- Supporting wider Student Engagement & Insights activity, including Welcome Week, RH100 and student surveys
About You
- Experience coordinating student-facing projects, events or schemes in a higher education or similar environment
- Experience supporting or supervising students or volunteers, including recruitment and training
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds
- A good understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing principles
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Microsoft 365 applications
