Fundraising & Supporter Care Assistant
[Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] is seeking a Fundraising & Supporter Care Assistant to provide administrative support to the Fundraising & Gift Aid operations team. This is a 12-month contract based in London (hybrid working).

- Department: Fundraising & Gift Aid
- Reporting to: Gift Aid & Supporter Care Officer and Head of Fundraising
- Contract type: 12 month contract, with likelihood of permanent
- Hours: 28 hours per week (4 days a week), core hours 9am-5pm, office based at least 3 days a week. Potential to go full-time.

Job Purpose
The Fundraising & Supporter Care Assistant will provide administrative support to the Fundraising & Gift Aid operations team, including opening post, processing donations and gift aid, updating the CRM and thanking donors. This post will also provide administrative support to the Fundraising team, including helping finalise and print planned giving materials, provide administrative support to the Head of Fundraising, and supporting the operational side of event management.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide operational administration of the Fundraising CRM Donorfy
- Collecting and opening the post and processing donations onto Donorfy
- Scanning donation documents and uploading onto Donorfy
- Maintaining Donorfy records – communication preferences, contact details, Gift Aid status, etc.
- Mail merging thank you letters, printing and posting them in a timely manner
- Hand-write thank you cards
- Manage the Regular Payment’s (standing orders) on a monthly basis. Follow up with cancelled or failed payments.
- Prepare the cheques and cash for banking with Finance
- Supporting the Gift Aid & Supporter Care Officer to manage second collections, train and support volunteers
- Learn the Diocese Gift Aid System – Gift Wise – to lend help where needed.
- Maximizing Gift Aid on all donations where possible.
- Excellent Customer Support and Care – working to provide high quality support and care to donors, parishes, priests, parish finance committees, GAC’s. Ensuring all emails receive a reply within 24 hrs.
- Working with the Parish Fundraising & Legacy Officer to update Planned Giving Drive materials. Arrange for the printing and delivery of materials to parishes
- Support the Parish Fundraising & Legacy Officer to report and update contactless giving figures.
- Contribute to webinars and training sessions for parish audiences, where needed.
- Provide administrative support to the Head of Fundraising
- Help the wider fundraising team with event management and planning.
- Undertake other parish-related and wider fundraising assignments as determined Head of Fundraising
- Maintain excellent understanding of GDPR, the Fundraising Regulator Code of Practice, and be committed to personal development.

Skills/Competence Requirements

- E - Awareness of GDPR data protection regulations, especially in relation to fundraising
- E - Awareness of and appreciation for the Catholic Church and its teachings
- D - An understanding of Gift Aid
- D - Knowledge and a practical understanding of the relevant legislation and regulations relating to charity fundraising, including data protection
Experience
- E - Fundraising administration experience in a non-profit setting, or strong transferrable skills
- E - Familiarity with using a CRM and managing data.
- D - Prior experience in a parish setting with familiarity of clergy roles and those of parish staff and the use of volunteers
Qualifications
- E - Proficiency in Microsoft Office – especially Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint – and cloud-based applications
