Site Maintenance and Caretaker SE1

Employer: [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal]. Location: London SE1. Salary: £22,500 - £24,500 pa, pro-rata for part-time. Contract: Fixed-term 12 months, 35 hours per week (shift pattern including evenings and weekends). Closing Date: 4th March 2022.

Job Description

The site includes residential and office accommodation, public access spaces and a car park. The primary function of this role is to provide handyman/maintenance services across the whole estate and act as a caretaker for the site, in particular for the Cathedral and Amigo Hall. Reporting to the Facilities Manager, duties include planned maintenance, testing, dealing with emergencies, painting and decorating, CCTV monitoring, buildings security, event preparation, and dealing with members of the public.

Requirements

  • Proven maintenance skills including painting and decorating, basic carpentry, plumbing and electrical
  • Experience of carrying out minor building works and working at height
  • Previous experience of historic and/or listed buildings is highly desirable
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Some knowledge of health and safety
  • Must be empathetic to the Catholic nature of the site and undertake a DBS disclosure
