About the Role

We’re delighted to be recruiting a reliable and experienced Yard Operative to join an established and highly respected supplier within the civil engineering and construction sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful business that values its employees and offers long-term stability. As a Yard Operative you can expect a varied, hands-on role in a fast-paced yard environment where no two days are the same. You’ll play a key part in ensuring customers receive excellent service while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the depot. Salary competitive depending on experience + excellent benefits including 25 days holiday + bank holidays and enrolment into the company Employee Ownership Scheme.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting customers and providing excellent customer service
  • Loading customer vans and cars safely and efficiently
  • Loading and unloading supplier deliveries
  • Picking, checking and preparing customer orders
  • Organising, storing and checking stock
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and tidy working environment
  • Supporting the wider team with general yard duties

Requirements

  • Previous experience within a similar role
  • Valid Counterbalance forklift licence
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Enjoy working as part of a close-knit team
  • Good attention to detail
  • Customer focused and approachable
  • Willingness to learn and develop new skills
  • Physically fit and comfortable with lifting/moving stock
  • Thrive in a busy outdoor working environment
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle

Working Hours

7.30am – 5pm Monday to Friday
