Job Description

We are looking for a [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] who will be responsible for leading the [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] Control function for R3 [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and Harwell, with a key focus on leadership, managament, policy and process, controls and governance ownership.

Key Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to...

  • Lead and develop a team of five, covering accounts receivable/payable, payroll, management accounts, tax, treasury, audit and contract asset reporting.
  • Oversee the delivery of accurate management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and indirect cash flow reporting.
  • Own cash flow management, including weekly reporting and rolling 13-week forecasts.
  • Lead the annual budget and forecasting process, providing insight and challenge where needed.
  • Build trusted relationships with senior stakeholders, banks, auditors, lenders and advisors.
  • Partner with the wider Finance Leadership Team to streamline processes, share knowledge, and drive consistency across the group.
  • Support the CFO with ad hoc strategic and operational projects.
  • Continuously review and improve [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] controls and processes to enhance efficiency and governance.

About You

You’ll be a qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) or QBE with solid experience operating as a [Employer hidden — sign up to reveal] and a clear view of what “good” looks like. You’ll bring a balance of technical skill and leadership strength, alongside the confidence to influence and drive change.

  • Proven track record managing and developing high-performing finance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting.
  • Experience in VAT principles, inventory accounting, and short-term cash forecasting.
  • A natural problem-solver who thrives on simplifying processes and leveraging technology to make things better.
  • Excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Calm under pressure, highly organised and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Energetic, curious, and always looking for ways to add value.
