Job Description
Main Purpose of the Role
We are looking for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to support our Production Management team by ensuring all machinery is fully operational and available to meet production demands. You will play a key role in delivering planned maintenance, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and supporting strategic projects, while maintaining accurate reporting to enable efficient production planning and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Support Manufacturing Leadership in maximising machine uptime and availability to meet production targets.
- Implement, schedule, and continuously improve planned preventative maintenance (PPM) routines.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality standards across the manufacturing environment.
- Ensure all machinery complies with current legislation and safety standards.
- Train employees in basic machine maintenance and 5S standards to maintain operational efficiency.
- Manage and maintain parts inventory to support machine availability within budget constraints.
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of 5S principles across all machinery.
- Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company policies and relevant ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001, ISO 45001).
- Analyse performance data to identify opportunities for reactive, preventative, and predictive maintenance improvements.
- Align machine servicing schedules with production planning and company production systems.
- Provide support to the boiler team as required.
- Respond to maintenance call-outs as part of a rota system.
- Train and support team members at the same or lower grade.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven diagnostic, fault-finding, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing machinery and maintenance systems.
- Relevant qualification such as OND, BTEC Level 3, or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and product documentation.
