Deputy Manager

Salary: £22.00 per hour
Job Type: Full-time / Permanent – Monday to Friday & Every other weekend, 30 hours per week

Skills and Knowledge Required
- RGN qualified with active PIN registration
- Experience in assessing an individual’s care and support needs
- Ability to build effective working relationships with Clients, Families, Staff and other Professionals
- Experience within a residential or Nursing Setting
- Experience of leading and managing people
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to monitor paperwork compliance for both Clients and staff members
Duties Include
- To support/assist the Manager in providing high quality of care to residents within the home.
- To ensure the Residents are at the centre of the care process and their preferences are respected.
- To keep the Manager informed of all important issues relating to the home, clients, staff seeking guidance as required
- To act in the Home Manager’s absence, overseeing the day-to-day operations of the home, making sure there are adequate staff to carry out all duties whilst ensuring the Home continues to provide a safe and secure atmosphere for residents and staff alike beneficial to their overall wellbeing
- To support the Home Manager with admission planning, ongoing assessments and discharge plans as and when required.
- To participate in Staff recruitment and selection
- To ensure the necessary paperwork, recording systems and organisational documentation are of a high standard, updated and maintained
- To oversee the duty rota monthly in advance ensuring the correct skills and numbers required are on duty.
- To effectively communicate to all staff the aims and objectives of the Home through verbal and written communication.
- To comply with all relevant legislation and where risks are identified, report them and take appropriate action.
- To ensure administration of medication in accordance with recognised protocols and controls
- To undertake any additional duties deemed appropriate by the Home Manager.
